Hey there! I just read about Alex Ovechkin's incredible journey towards becoming the NHL's all-time leading goal scorer, and I can't help but feel a mix of excitement and concern. Ovi has been a powerhouse throughout his career, and seeing him start the season with 15 goals in just 18 games was nothing short of spectacular. But that knee-on-knee collision? Absolutely gut-wrenching!
It's amazing to think about how close he is to breaking Wayne Gretzky's record, but the injury could really throw a wrench in his plans. I mean, he's been so durable over the years, and now at 39, it feels like the stakes are higher than ever. I love the idea that he might break the record against the Penguins, especially with the history he has with Sidney Crosby. That would be a storybook ending!
I do think he can still hit that 42-goal mark this season, especially if he comes back strong. Ovechkin has that fire in him, and I wouldn't put it past him to push through and make history. Plus, the Capitals are looking pretty solid this season, which could give him the support he needs to chase down those goals.
What do you think? Do you believe he can come back and still break the record this season? And how do you feel about the possibility of him aiming for 1,000 goals after that? That would be insane!
