The Flyers traded Shayne Gostisbehere to the Coyotes in 2021 to free up cap space, but it turned out to be a short-sighted move as the team performed worse without him. Gostisbehere revitalized his career, becoming a key offensive defenseman for the Coyotes and contributing to subsequent teams, while the Flyers suffered through rough seasons. They also missed out on valuable draft picks in the process. As a hardcore hockey fan, seeing Gostisbehere flourish elsewhere is bittersweet. The Flyers really could have used his dynamic presence on the blue line. Moves made in haste can backfire, and this trade definitely stings for those of us who bleed orange and black. Always support the team, but it's tough not to wonder "what if" when we see Ghost excelling on other teams. Go Philly, let's learn from this and rebuild better!
