What a wild incident that was with Connor McDavid and Conor Garland! It's always a hot topic when the best player in the league gets involved in something like this. I totally understand the frustration McDavid felt; he’s constantly being targeted by defenders trying to take him off his game.

Chris Pronger’s take is interesting. I agree that showing some grit can help McDavid create more space on the ice. He’s such a dynamic player, and if opponents know he’s willing to stand up for himself, they might think twice before trying to rough him up. However, I think there are definitely better ways to handle it than a cross-check to the face.

Garland’s comments were pretty classy too. It’s nice to see that even in the heat of the moment, players can respect each other. But I can’t help but feel that McDavid’s going to have to find a balance between being assertive and staying out of the penalty box. The Oilers need him on the ice, especially if they want to make a deep playoff run.

What do you think? Should McDavid be more aggressive, or should he stick to his finesse game?
