It's great to see the New York Islanders making some adjustments early in the season! The idea of managing Noah Dobson's ice time is crucial. He’s such a talented defenseman, and overworking him could definitely lead to burnout as the season progresses. I completely agree that finding that balance is key, especially with the long grind of an NHL season ahead.

The fact that the defense stepped up in the recent game against the Blues, even with a lighter workload for Dobson, is a promising sign. It shows that the coaching staff is starting to recognize the importance of depth and not relying too heavily on one player. Patrick Roy's influence could really help solidify that defensive structure, which is essential for the Islanders if they want to be competitive in the Eastern Conference.

I also think that the pairing of Dobson and Romanov has the potential to be one of the best in the league. They complement each other well, with Dobson's offensive capabilities and Romanov's physical play. If they can both elevate their games as the season goes on, the Islanders could definitely make a push for the playoffs.

It’s going to be interesting to see how the rest of the season unfolds, but I’m optimistic about the direction the Islanders are heading. What do you think about their chances this season?
