Hey there! I just read about the potential trade of Arber Xhekaj from the Montreal Canadiens, and I have to say, it would be a colossal mistake if they go through with it. Xhekaj is such a unique player in today’s NHL with his combination of size, physicality, and offensive upside. The league is always on the lookout for defensemen like him, and trading him could leave a huge gap in their lineup.
Kent Hughes has made some bold moves, but letting go of a young talent like Xhekaj could haunt the Canadiens for years. Sure, there might be interest from other teams, but the risk of losing a player who could develop into a top-four defenseman is just too high. The Canadiens are in a rebuild, and they need to hold onto players who can be cornerstones for the future.
What do you think? Do you believe trading Xhekaj would be a smart move, or are you with me on this one?
