Hey there! I just read about the Utah Hockey Club's first 12 games of the season, and I have to say, it's a mixed bag of excitement and concern. It's great to see a new team in Utah, and the ownership situation seems to be a breath of fresh air compared to the Coyotes' past struggles.
Connor Ingram's performance is definitely something to keep an eye on. While his record looks decent, those save percentage and goals-against-average numbers are alarming. It’s tough for any goalie to shine when the defense is struggling, especially with injuries piling up. Mikhail Sergachev's addition is a silver lining, though! His poise on the ice is exactly what a young team needs, and I think he can really help stabilize that blue line.
The blown leads are a classic issue that can haunt a team throughout the season. If they can’t learn to close out games, it could cost them a playoff spot. And let’s not forget about the need for more shots on goal. Ranking 29th in that category is not going to cut it if they want to compete.
Overall, I think the Utah Hockey Club has potential, but they need to tighten up their defense and find a way to generate more offense. If they can make some smart trades and get healthy, who knows? They might just surprise us all! What do you think about their chances this season?
