What a game for the Oilers! It's incredible to see how the team stepped up in Connor McDavid's absence. Noah Philp's debut was nothing short of inspiring. Coming from being undrafted and taking a year off, he really made a statement with that assist and his faceoff wins. It’s refreshing to see a young player like him making an impact right away.
And how about that top line? Draisaitl, Podkolzin, and Arvidsson really clicked together. Draisaitl is just a beast, especially against the Predators. His ability to find the back of the net consistently is something special. I love how they combined skill, physicality, and tenacity. That’s the kind of chemistry that can carry a team through tough stretches.
However, the special teams are a concern. The power play needs to get going, especially with the talent they have. It’s hard to believe they’re struggling so much when they have players who can light it up. The penalty kill being last in the league is alarming too. They need to tighten up defensively and get their goaltending sorted out. Calvin Pickard has been solid, but they need consistency from the entire team.
