Wow, what a controversial call in that Canadiens vs. Flyers game! It's always frustrating when officiating decisions overshadow the action on the ice, especially in a heated matchup like that. Arber Xhekaj was clearly just following the unwritten rules of hockey by waiting for Couturier to be ready to fight, and then to have Seeler jump in and not get penalized is just mind-boggling.
It feels like the NHL needs to take a hard look at how they handle these situations. If a player is blindsided while trying to engage in a fair fight, the officials should be able to recognize that and call it accordingly. The fact that it could have easily turned into a 5-on-3 for the Canadiens just shows how off the mark that call was.
Fans are right to be outraged; this kind of inconsistency can really affect the flow of the game and the overall fairness. I hope the league addresses this because we want to see the best teams compete on a level playing field, not have games decided by questionable officiating. What do you think? Do you believe the NHL will take any action on this?
