Hey there! I just read about the Edmonton Oilers potentially trading their top prospect, Matt Savoie, to bolster their defense. As an Oilers fan, I have to say this is a tough situation. Savoie is such a promising talent, and at just 20 years old, he’s already showing he can be a productive scoring winger. The Oilers have struggled defensively, but trading away a young player with so much potential could be a huge mistake.
I get that GM Stan Bowman is looking to make moves to improve the team, but I really hope they can find another solution without sacrificing Savoie. The Oilers have already traded away a lot of their top picks in previous seasons, and it feels like they’re in a position where they need to build for the future, not just the present.
What do you think? Should they hold onto Savoie and look for other options, or do you think trading him could be worth it if it means getting a solid defenseman?
