Hey there! I just read about the situation with Jeff Skinner and the Oilers, and I have to say, it's a bit perplexing. Skinner has so much potential, and with the injuries piling up, it seems like a missed opportunity not to give him a shot on a higher line, especially with a talent like Connor McDavid.
I get that Viktor Arvidsson had a good game, but if you're trying to develop your younger players and see what they can do, you have to take those chances. The Oilers have invested in Skinner, and it feels like they need to invest in his development too. If he’s not getting the ice time now, how can they expect him to be a key player in the future?
It’s a long season, and slumps happen, but I think the coaching staff needs to be more proactive in giving players like Skinner the opportunities they need to shine. What do you think? Do you believe he’ll get a chance soon, or is this a sign of something deeper in the coaching strategy?
