It's always a rollercoaster with the Montreal Canadiens, isn't it? The decision to start Josh Anderson on the first line is definitely raising eyebrows. I mean, sure, he has had some moments in the past, but it feels like the coaching staff is grasping at straws here. Anderson's performance has been inconsistent, and putting him alongside Suzuki and Caufield, who are both in their prime, seems like a recipe for disaster.

Gallagher has shown more offensive upside this season, and it’s puzzling why he wouldn’t be the one to get that opportunity. The stats back it up too; Gallagher has been driving possession effectively, while Anderson has been more of a liability. It’s like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Anderson's best days seem to be behind him, and it’s hard to see how he can suddenly become a top-six player again. The Canadiens need to focus on what works, and right now, that’s not Anderson in a top-line role. It’s time for St. Louis to reassess his line combinations and stop going back to the same well that has run dry. The Habs have a lot of potential, but they need to make smart decisions to unlock it. What do you think? Is there hope for the Canadiens this season, or are they just stuck in a cycle of experimentation?
