Rangers Must Improve Defense Despite Strong Goaltending

It's great to see the New York Rangers off to a solid start, but I completely agree that relying too heavily on goaltending can be a double-edged sword. Igor Shesterkin has been phenomenal, and Jonathan Quick has shown he still has what it takes, but the team needs to step up defensively.

The lack of physicality and the struggles in one-on-one battles are concerning. Hockey is as much about grit and determination as it is about skill, and if the Rangers want to compete at the highest level, they need to bring that intensity every night. The first line has to find a way to sustain pressure and create more offensive opportunities without leaving their defense exposed.

It's also interesting to note their success on the penalty kill. That shows they can play with structure when it matters, but they need to translate that into even-strength play. If they can tighten up defensively and support their goaltenders, the Rangers could be a real force this season. What do you think they need to do to improve their defensive game?
