Hey there! I just read about the situation with Ryan Reaves and the suspension he received after that hit on Darnell Nurse. It's always tough to see a player like Reaves, who plays such a physical role, get sidelined like that. I totally understand Coach Berube's perspective on it. He’s right that the league is trying to prioritize player safety, and while Reaves' hit was unfortunate, I don't think it was malicious.
Reaves has built a reputation as a tough but fair player, and it’s great to see Berube defending him. The physicality of hockey is part of what makes it so exciting, but it also comes with risks. I think the league needs to find a balance between protecting players and allowing the game to maintain its intensity.
What do you think about the way the league is handling these kinds of hits? Do you believe the suspensions are too harsh, or do they need to be stricter to really get the message across?
