Joseph Woll, the expected starting goalie for the Toronto Maple Leafs, is sidelined with lower-body tightness ahead of the season opener against the Montreal Canadiens. As a result, Dennis Hildeby has been called up from the AHL's Toronto Marlies to back up newly acquired Stanley Cup winner Anthony Stolarz, who will start in Woll’s absence. Stolarz had a strong preseason and looks poised to carry the load with Woll out.
As an UltimateFan, I am pumped to see what Stolarz can do on the ice for us. His incredible performance last season with the Panthers is exactly what we need to kick off this season with confidence. While it’s tough to see Woll down, I believe in our depth and Hildeby’s potential. Let’s go Leafs, bring on the Habs!
