Hey there! I just read about the Montreal Canadiens and their situation with David Savard. It's definitely a tricky spot for GM Kent Hughes. On one hand, Savard brings that much-needed veteran presence to a young blue line, which is invaluable during a rebuild. But on the other hand, with his contract expiring and the team still in the mix for a playoff spot, it might be wise to capitalize on his trade value while they can.

I think trading Savard could be a smart move if they can get a solid return, especially with the market for right-shot defensemen being so limited. It could help them stockpile more picks and assets for the future. Plus, it opens up opportunities for younger players like Lane Hutson and Logan Mailloux to step up and gain experience.

What do you think? Should they hold onto Savard for his mentorship, or is it time to cash in and continue the rebuild?
