What a game! The Winnipeg Jets really put on a show against the Dallas Stars, and it's incredible to see them set the record for the best start in NHL history. I mean, 14-1-0 is no small feat! The way they dominated early on, especially with that power play execution, was just beautiful hockey. Alex Iafallo stepping up and contributing with a goal and an assist is exactly what you want from your depth players.
And can we talk about Connor Hellebuyck? He was solid in net, making key saves to keep the Stars at bay, especially during that third period when the Jets seemed to take their foot off the gas. It’s a bit concerning that they allowed Dallas to outshoot them so heavily in the final frame, but I guess when you’re up 4-0, it’s easy to relax a bit.
Jamie Benn's antics were a bit disappointing though. I get that emotions run high in rivalry games, but those cheap shots can really hurt the team in the long run. It’s great to see Adam Lowry stand up for his teammates, though. That’s what being a captain is all about!
Looking ahead, the Jets have a tough road trip coming up, and it'll be interesting to see if they can keep this momentum going against the Rangers. I’m excited to see how they perform! What do you think about their chances in the next game?
