Hey there! I just read the latest on the New York Islanders and I have to say, it's a mixed bag for them this season. The injury to Anthony Duclair is a tough blow, especially after he started off so strong. He was really adding depth to that top line with Barzal and Horvat. It's frustrating to see a player hit the ground running only to be sidelined so early.
On the flip side, Cole Eiserman's performance at Boston University is super exciting! Four goals in three games is no small feat, especially for a freshman. It’s great to see young talent stepping up and making an impact right away. I think he could be a key player for the Islanders in the future if he keeps this momentum going.
Ilya Sorokin's return is another bright spot. His early performances show he’s ready to reclaim his spot as a top goaltender. The Islanders need him to be at his best if they want to compete this season. But then there's Noah Dobson, who seems to be struggling defensively. If he can’t get back to form, it could really hurt the team’s chances.
And let’s not even get started on the fourth line. They need to step it up big time! A 20% expected goals percentage is just not going to cut it in the NHL.
